NATE IS A VISIONARY
on a mission to transform the realm of public space. The vacant neglected city wall is his canvas, primed with the inherent meaning of its set and setting. He is best known for his large scale trompe l’oeil photo-murals, installed on two buildings in Boston’s North End.
Surreality haunts Nate’s oil paintings. Cityscapes, the natural world and abstractions are realized from the point of view of an extra-terrestrial or Kafka’s protagonist in The Metamorphosis. Similar subject matter is also depicted in Nate’s pen and ink drawings; the best of which are realistic street scenes executed with bravado line work that reveals the sensitivities of a 19th century aesthete bound to recording the miasma of the 21st.
Nate is trained as a landscape architect.
